Nicola Valley Fall Fair and 4 H Club Labour Day Weekend 2025. Above all since 1913 this 2-day fair has become a family tradition within the Nicola Valley. The Fair also features tractor pulls and stock car displays. It is a true old fashioned Canadian event you can experience while visiting the Nicola Valley.

Hosted in Merritt BC for over 60 years, the Nicola Valley Pro Rodeo is a professional rodeo that welcomes you to explore the cultures and traditions of our province in a fun and unique way.

We know you want to do something fun, entertaining, affordable, and maybe a little educational with your family this summer – great memories you’ll talk about for years to come.

The Nicola Valley Pro Rodeo is a high-caliber professional event on the Maple Leaf Circuit, and features the finest animal athletes in North America.

This means we get the best cowboys and cowgirls from across Canada and the U.S. competing at our rodeo. Proudly, we are endorsed by the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association and the American Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

Nicola Valley Fall Fair

The Nicola Valley Fall Fair is a non-profit group and typically hold a Fair and Exhibition every Labor Day Weekend.

We have been in operation in the Nicola Valley for more than 100 years and our main focus is to improve, encourage, develop and promote the advancement of agriculture and conditions of rural life in the Nicola Valley, surrounding areas, and the Province of BC.

Our focus includes the fostering of livestock, field crops, orchard crops, poultry and animal husbandry, as well as the continuation and improvement of agriculture, industrial and commercial education, mechanical and household arts (gardening, baking, canning, sewing, photography, native arts), promotion of 4H and other activities which benefit the people of the Nicola Valley and surrounding areas.

We are inclusive and welcome input from our community with exhibitors ranging from 6 years old up to their 90’s. We do not limit participation based on participants' race, colour, creed, gender, sexual orientation, nation/ethnic origin, class or cultural background, and our facility is handicap accessible.

Nicola Valley Rodeo Weekend - Merritt BC

Rodeo Schedule for Labour Day Weekend 2026:

Friday, September 4th:
  • 6:30pm - Parade followed by live music at the Rodeo grounds! There will be a line dancing lesson offered as well.

Saturday, September 5th:
  • 8:30am - Gates open. The daily rates apply once the gate opens.
  • 9:00am – 11am - Rodeo slack. (Timed event participants that compete outside the main rodeo performance times when there are more entries than can be accommodated during the afternoon.)
  • 10:30am - The Kids Corral (Zone) opens. Activities for children to patriciate in, such as roping lessons, face painting, stick horse races, arts & crafts, etc.
  • 11:00am - Browse the rodeo market with its wide range of vendors/artists, while listening to live music by Ross Fairweather.
  • 1:00pm - 4pm - Rodeo performances.
  • 3:00pm 5:00pm - Tailgate Party! With live music in the beer garden played by Coldwater Road.
  • 7:00pm - Gates re-open for the dance.
  • 8:00pm - Midnight - The Coquihalla Coyotes band will rock you with their talent! (Dance ticket required + ID. 19+.)

Sunday, September 6th:
  • 8:00am - Rotary Merritt is hosting a pancake breakfast. Tickets will be available on site.
  • 9:30am - Cowboy Church – free to attend.
  • 10:30am - The Kids Corral (Zone) opens.
  • 11:00am - Live music and rodeo market in the concourse.
  • 1:00pm - 4:00pm - Rodeo performances!
  • 3:00pm – 5:00pm - Tailgate party and music by Coldwater Road.

Wednesday, September 2nd:
  • 5:00pm - Deadline for submissions of entry forms at Black's IDA Pharmacy or Pharmasave.

Thursday, September 3rd:
  • 6:00pm - 9:00pm - Photography entries MUST BE SUBMITTED at the Fall Fair Exhibition Building.
    STUDENTS! Creative Writing, Photography & Fine Arts for section 1 - students section MUST BE SUBMITTED at the Fall Fair Building.
  • 7:00pm - 9:00pm - Fine Arts entries MUST BE SUBMITTED at the Fall Fair Exhibition Building.
  • Note: It is necessary for the entries in these categories to be brought to the Fall Fair Building Thursday evening as they must be hung for judging & display.

Friday, September 4th:
  • 7:00pm - 9:00pm - Fall Fair entries accepted at the Fall Fair Exhibition Building.

Saturday, September 5th:
  • 7:00am - 8:00am - Fall Fair entries accepted at the Fall Fair Exhibition Building. Livestock and Poutry entries accepted at the Fall Fair Exhibition Barn.
  • 8:00am - 12:00pm – Fair Buildings closed for judging.
  • 12:00pm – Nicola Valley Fall Fair Buildings open to the public.
  • 7:00pm – Fall Fair Building Closes.

Sunday, September 6th:
  • 9:30am – Nicola Valley Fall Fair Buildings open to the public.
  • 1:00pm – Awards Presentation.
  • 2:30pm – Removal of exhibits and payouts of prize money.

Fall Fair Admission

  • Adults $5.00
  • Students under 14 & Seniors $3.00
  • Children under 6 are FREE
